About JC General Contractors
JC General Contractors is a San Antonio roofing and general contracting company. How we look at a roof, what we put in writing, and what we will not tell you.
JC General Contractors is a roofing and general contracting company working in San Antonio and the surrounding communities. We look at the property, tell you what we found, put the scope in writing, do the agreed work, and clear up after ourselves.
How we work
You tell us what you are seeing
A stain on a ceiling, shingles in the yard, a roof that took a beating last week. You do not need to diagnose it before you call. Noticing something is enough to start.
We look at the property
For a roof, that means the field, the flashing, the penetrations, the valleys, and the condition of the decking, plus the attic side where it can be reached safely. The point is to find the cause, not just the place the water appeared.
You get the findings in writing
What we found, what we recommend, and what the work covers. In writing, so you can read it properly, ask about it, or take it to someone else for a second opinion. If a contractor will not put the scope in writing, that is worth knowing about them.
The work gets done, and the site gets cleared
Agreed scope, agreed schedule. If something turns up once the covering is off, you hear about it at the point we find it, not on the invoice.
What we will not tell you
This part matters as much as the rest, particularly after a storm.
- We will not tell you what your insurer will decide. Your policy and your insurer determine coverage. Anyone who promises you a claim outcome before it is filed is telling you something they cannot know.
- We will not tell you a roof needs replacing when it needs repairing. Replacement is a large job and it should be justified by the condition of the roof rather than by its age.
- We will not pressure you to decide today. If an offer needs you to sign before you have had time to think, the offer is the problem.
On licensing in Texas
Texas does not issue a statewide roofing contractor license. We mention this because homeowners reasonably assume that asking whether a roofer is licensed is a meaningful check, and in this state it does not mean what it means elsewhere. There is a real verification checklist in How to choose a Texas roofer and avoid post-storm scams. Apply it to us as well as to anyone else.
